Menstrual Period is NOT a Excuse (For Travel)

 


Hello ladies! Welcome to Let’s Book. Is your period always decides to show itself while you are on vacation or vocation plans? This article was written with the experiences and scientific researches I gained from the women around me. I am a man and this article might not perfect. If you have any advice we would love to listen it.

This article is written for you to relax while traveling.  

—Knowing Menstrual Period—

Menstrual Period is totally natural. Actually your body works for potencial pregnancy. It is healthy.


Do: Track Your Period
You must track your priod. 



Know: Is There an Average for Menstrual Period?

No, there is no average. It is changing body to body.

  • The length of peoples' follicular phase varies. And researchs tell us; when your length of follicular phase varies your, period’s time is changing. 
  • Age. Age can affect your cycle. My around womens and research me say that as you get older, your menstrual cycle gets shorter.
  • Stress & Inactivity. If you are in such a situation, menstrual cycles may become shorter and shorter. Being a traveler is an excellent way to break this situation!
  • Approaching; menopause… Also it can affect your cycle of period.
  • Changes in your weight, changing contraception methods, ect…


There is not any “normal” and if you do not have a disease, thats okey. If you have a different cycle from your environment, it is your "normal".


Do: Hygiene & Products

You should use pads, tampon or menstrual Cups. If I would a women, I would use Menstrual Cups. Because provide longest direction of use. But you can use which of you want.
  • Tampons and pads should be changed every 4-8 hour for hygiene.
  • Menstrual Cups can stay inside for up to 12 hours.
You should wash your vagina periodically. You don’t need a cleaning kit for your genitals. And actually your vagina not your whole genital. (Vulva + vagina)

Cleaning your Vagina:
  • Actually it is amazing! Your vagina clean itself. I would like to this my penis. It uses natural vagina discharge and it is smell oderless. 
  • But also, it is natural to have a odor depending on your menstrual period. Because of period. But if you fell a strong odor, it may a symptom of a infection.

Cleaning your Vulva:
  • Just use warm water. (it should not be very very hot.)
Yes you just need it. Don’t forget; Vulva can’t clean itself. So if you clean it well, you don't need anything else.

Know: Hygiene & Products
Hygiene and products will prevent leakage and bacterial infection. Also when your cycle is off, you should be sure no tampon is your inside. This also make can infection.


-Problems in Menstrual Period and What Can You Do?-

This chapter included commen problems in period and what can you do. 

Do: Tactics for Headaches & Migraines
The headaches should can not be block your travel. If even you are doing this list and still it can be block you, somethings are wrong.
  • Medication: There are a few medications that can help with headaches and migraines. Probably you have one of them.
  • Drink More Water: I am not a woman but I can say it is work. My experience and research says us headaches connecting with water.
  • Sleep: Make sure you get your sleep even while you are traveling.
  • Travel: Yes! Less technology, more travel. Travel can help you.
  • Food: When you traveling and tired. You need more food. It is another reason.
Know: Headaches & Migrains

Research tell us, Getting headaches in period is can be connecting with estrogen. When estrogen is down some womans saying hello to headaches or migraines. Also, it can be connecting with prostaglandins. When prostaglandins are more work some womens feeling the headaches.

If you have to headaches or migrains even when not in period, it may cannot about your period. 



Do: Dysmenorrhea & PMS
Look at this 4 common helping thing:
  • Travel: Yes. When you are travelling, you will be relax, and your body will move. And this can help.
  • Heat pads
  • A Massage 
  • Some tablets or pills


Know: Dysmenorrhea & PMS

Do you feel some kind of pain in the lower back, back, thighs, and lower abdomen? Actually, these kind of pains about the muscles in your uterus contracting. And it is natural. If you feeling some period pain this is mean your body is good working.

The severity and location of the pain may not be the same for everyone, which is natural. Also some foods can aggravate your period. This can change body to body.

But if your pain can prevent you from traveling for more than 1-2 days, it is useful to consult your doctor. Cycles should not prevent you from traveling.


Do: Spotting
More often than not, spotting doesn't mean anything serious. And for general you don’t need to do anything.

Know: Spotting
Spotting looks like small drops or smears of blood. It can manifest in different colors.  If it's spotting, it will be occasional and only a minimal amount of blood (not enough to soak through your underwear).

Research show that there is no need to very very panic and is linked to birth control pills.  But it can rarely be a symptom of something else. (Like pregnancy or another)


Do: Bleeding
If you are in an exaggerated situation, you should consult your healthcare provider.


Know: Bleeding
Bleeding can symptom to some cancer. (Rarely) But it can be symptom a lot of things. Bleeding is uncomfortable and wets your underwear.


Do: Period Poops
When you are traveling to determine public toilets is good idea. (Like Starbucks toilets.)



Know: Period Poops
In your period to find yourself in the bathroom than usual, this is normal.
